A group of movers and shakers in the tourism industry were shown around five Moray attractions earlier this month.

The Speyside Cooperage near Craigellachie, Benromach Distillery at Forres, Brodie Castle, Johnstons of Elgin and Blervie House at Rafford were all on the itinerary during a trip organised by VisitScotland as a way of showcasing the north of Scotland.

On the guest list were key buyers from international markets, such as the USA, Germany, China and Japan.

Other attractions visited outside of Moray included the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre near Fort Augustus, which is run by the Findhorn-based charity Trees for Life).

Yet more were the Grant Arms Hotel in Grantown-on-Spey and Cawdor Castle.

Chris Taylor, of VisitScotland, said: "It was fantastic to see these groups experience for themselves a small selection of what makes the Highlands and Moray Speyside so attractive and appealing to visitors.

"As consumer confidence begins to grow again, demand is building for international travel."
