PEOPLE have reacted with shock to the death of a young woman in Elgin which police are treating as murder.
The investigation is being led by detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
"Heartbreaking news," said one resident on The Northern Scot Facebook page, "Thinking of all her family and young kids."
"RIP Kiesha. Sleep tight sweet lady," said another reader.
Officers were called to a property in Anderson Drive around 7.20pm on Thursday, November 16 and a 32-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police launched a murder investigation following a post mortem examination.
The victim is understood to be mother of two Kiesha Donaghy, although police have yet to formally name her.
Detective Superintendent Lorna Ferguson said: “Our thoughts are with the woman's family and friends at this very difficult time, and our specially trained officers will continue to support them as our enquiries continue."
Added DS Ferguson: "There will be an increased police presence in the local area while we carry out extensive enquiries. Anyone with information or concerns can also speak to these officers."
Other comments on the Scot Fadcebook included: "How sad and heartbreaking for her family and kiddies. Shock, what's the world coming to?"
"Totally shocking. Hope the family get justice, sending strength to the kiddies and family. RIP Kiesha."
"Absolutely heartbreaking," another added, "I hope people find out soon who was responsible and her family get justice. Such a cruel world we live in with evil people."
