POSTCARD-sized art by amateurs and professionals is on display at Moray Art Centre (MAC).

MAC convener Leah Davis coordinated the Secret Santa exhibition, showing A6 designs without the creators’ details.

MAC board member, Lucy Summers, explained why the postcards’ artists are anonymous until purchased.

She said: “The postcards cost a minimum donation of £15 with the proceeds helping to continue our community work. The Secret Santa theme allows anyone to pick up art for a universal donation, whether the picture is by a famous artist or a gifted amateur.”

Artists whose work sells are offered 12 months free membership at MAC.

“We sold a Macbeth-inspired submission from Martin Brown, the illustrator of the Horrible Histories books,” said Lucy. “And a haunting winter scene from Scottish artist Mark Edwards.”

Art still available includes a nature-inspired piece from an award-winning local artist and emerging artists from MAC’s sister exhibition, Graduate Goodies.

Lucy said: “Whether you want a still life, a floral design, an abstract or a Christmassy scene – they’re all here! The quality has really engaged our visitors.

“It’s fantastic!”
