FORRES Academy is closed again due to flooding.
Parents and pupils were informed via email and social media on Sunday that "As a result of storm Babet the school has been impacted by water ingress".
The news comes on the day of the return after the two-week October holidays - the school community is waiting to hear what the plans are for education while most of the top floor of Forres Academy is closed due to faulty concrete (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) in the roof.
Head teacher Jan Sinclair confirmed Moray Council employees attempted to clear the water over the course of the weekend.
She said: "Unfortunately due to safety we will be unable to open to pupils on Monday, October 23.
"Parts of the school will be open for staff and so remote learning will be provided via Teams from mid-morning and a further update shared with parents on Monday afternoon.
"We apologise for this inconvenience but must have the safety of pupils and staff at the forefront of decisions."
Moray Council leader, Councillor Kathleen Robertson (Forres, Conservative) has a child studying at Forres Academy.
She said: "‘I’m hugely disappointed that the school has had yet another challenge following Storm Babet.
"It further adds to the calls to expedite the process for progressing the school replacement."
