Ho, ho, ho ... It's time to look and listen out for Santa's sleigh again!

Children from all over Forres and Kinloss will have the chance to greet Father Christmas and his elves as they tour the area to raise funds for worthy causes.

Andy Wardley confirmed his colleagues at Forres Rotary will be making bucket collections as they accompany St Nick on his rounds. They will not be knocking on doors but will be highly visible.

He said: "Santa will be out over seven nights this month. His sleigh will be guided by a fire engine from Forres Fire Station with its lights and siren on to warn everyone that he's coming.

"Santa will also be at Forres Tesco on Saturday, December 23 from 10am-4pm to meet even more children and families in person."

The elves have been checking Santa's sleigh over, making sure no repairs are necessary ahead of his journeys.

Andy added: "We've also been having a look at the routes to make sure he visits everywhere children live locally."

Santa's routes - subject to change depending on conditions - from 6-8pm each night are: Kinloss on Monday, December 11; Califer Road, Councillors Walk, Baillies Road, Meikle Crook on Tuesday, December 12; Grant Drive, Twinning Link, Knockomie Rise, Whiterow Drive, Knockomie Gardens then opposite the Co-op to Cautley Close, Cinchona road and Rhododendron Drive on Wednesday, December 13; Knockomie Braes, Allan Drive, Mannachie Gardens and Grove on Thursday, December 14; Fleurs Place, Anderson Crescent, Macdonald Drive and Thornhill on Friday, December 15; around the old health centre area, Castle Street, Woodside Drive, Nelson Road, St Leonard's Drive, Adam Drive and Brewster Road on Monday, December 18; Bogton Road, Springfield, Croft Road, Drumduan Road, Gardens and Drumduan Park, Forbeshill,White Road, Argentier Road, Birkenhillock, Earlsland and Highfield on Tuesday, December 19.

Andy finished: "Any funds we raise will be donated to local charities. Collectors will walk alongside the sleigh for cash donations. Please give if you can, but come out and wave to Santa regardless!

"And thank you to all of the businesses who contribute to the upkeep of Santa's sleigh."
