HO, ho, ho ... Santa Claus is coming to town ...

Savour the Christmas hits carolling through the night air! Seek out the fairy lights bobbing and winking as if by magic up the street! And scramble for any loose change which may have slipped down the back of the sofa!

Christmas would not be the same in Forres and Kinloss without Santa and his sleigh - this year fully protected against covid and escorted by his own fire engine.

As always Santa's trusty helpers are accompanying him - assorted elves from Rotary Club of Forres skipping alongside, making bucket and contactless card collections.

Santa's sweep over Forres is taking place almost every night until Tuesday, December 21 and every penny collected will go to good causes.

Rotary convener Andy Wardley confirmed the volunteers are briefed every night on safety precautions and to check covid statuses, while the collections are being made by support vehicle personnel in high viz', wearing face coverings and regularly using hand sanitiser.

He said: "Santa is enjoying touring the area to let everyone know he is safe and still coming on Christmas Eve to deliver your presents!

"He's been vaccinated and is in a bubble with his elves and helpers. They're all looking forward to a Merry Christmas!"

Santa's Sleigh tour sets off at 6pm every night.

Due to covid restrictions there will be no stops or door-to-door collections. However, the vehicle may slow down for collections.
