MORAY MP Douglas Ross has hailed the efforts of medical staff, administrators and volunteers for their dedication and enthusiasm in administering more than 190,000 vaccinations in the region.

It comes on the first anniversary of Moray’s Covid vaccination programme.

Mr Ross said “Monday [December 13] marked exactly one year since vaccinations in Moray began to be administered in local venues, community clinics, hospitals, care homes, people’s own homes and then we had the establishment of the Fiona Elcock centre.

All our thanks and praise goes to the medical staff, administrators and volunteers for their tireless efforts.

“The community in Moray have responded well to this vaccination programme, which has certainly reduced the number of people in our area being affected by serious illness or hospitalisation from covid.

“However the message is clear. We need to get our boosters, adhere to the advice on restrictions and focus on recovery to get the economy back on track as we fight our way out of this crisis.

“By working with our great vaccination team here in Moray we can get through this next challenge, but we are in a better place than we would have been if it hadn’t been for the heroic efforts of the vaccinators and their teams over the last year.”
