A world-renowned composer and his musician wife will be performing at the Universal Hall at the start of next month.
Yann Tiersen came to worldwide prominence after writing the soundtrack to the 2001 hit film Amélie.
Meanwhile, Emilie Tiersen, who records under the name Quinquis, is a singer as well as a composer.
The couple live on an island off the coast of Brittany, the French region where they both grew up.
To show their commitment to environmentalism the couple are travelling to Moray on their sailboat.
To get away from the conventional idea of touring, they are asking for suggestions from the public about unusual venues where they can perform, including beaches, gardens or wherever else.
Many of the songs will be in Breton, the original language of Brittany which has much more in common with Welsh than it does with French.
Ninnog is the name of both the couple's sailboat and their tour, which is taking in countries with Celtic connections and the Faroe Islands.
In addition, Ninnog is also the name of an early medieval mother superior who's said to have championed sustainability and forestry while traversing from Wales to Brittany.
Yann Tiersen and Quinquis will be appearing at the Universal Hall on Wednesday, August 2, at 7.30pm.
