THE songwriting lynchpin of witty folk-pop band Randolph's Leap will perform in Moray next week.

The seven-piece band's lead vocalist, Adam Ross, from Nairn, is embarking on a tour ahead of the release of his debut solo album, "Staring at Mountains", next year.

In his music, Ross adds a folk twist to a growing tradition of upbeat Scottish chamber pop, which includes fellow Scottish bands such as Camera Obscura and Belle & Sebastian.

The musician has become known for his inventive and playful lyrics.

Ross will be joined at Findhorn's Universal Hall by fellow folk-pop act Man of the Minch, who is known for traditional Celtic sounds infused with modern electronica and empowering queer perspectives.

Adam Ross with support, Man of the Minch, will begin at 8pm on Friday, November 12.

Tickets, costing £14, £12 for concessions and £10 for under-16s, are bookable at universalhall.co.uk (plus booking fee).
