GRANT Park will be a canvas of colours during Scottish Week thanks to an event organised by Forres Rotary.

Young people in the community are being invited to take part in the Colourful Cluny Run on Thursday, June 6 from 4.30-6.30pm, to help make a magnificent mess!

Rotary secretary Sheena MacGillivray explained: “Participants will run, jog or walk around the park while the watching crowd throw colours at them.

“Different age groups will start at different times. Come along and have fun!”

Registration will be from 4-4.30pm followed by the first run of under-10s from 4.30-5pm, the second of 11-14-year-olds from 5-5.30pm and the final run of over-14s from 5.30-6pm.

Forres Rotary has meticulously planned the event to ensure it is a real spectacle for everyone to enjoy.

The entry fee has been kept to £2, which includes a bag of coloured powder.

Participants can also opt to pay £10 to get a white T-shirt to use during the colourful run, as well as a wristband in a gym bag.

“We wanted to run a fun but inexpensive event,” added Rotarian Suzie de Vry, “to make it as accessible as possible to all.

“Please have a go - run, walk and create a rainbow!”
