FAMILIES looking to kit their children out for school are being invited to a popular event this weekend.

The fourth local Preloved Uniform Fair is being held at St Leonard's Church Hall from 9.30am-noon on Saturday, August 12, offering free Forres Associated School Groups clothing.

The fair is being run in partnership with Moray School Bank, St John's and St Leonard's Churches.

St John's volunteer, Mary Joyce, said: "New term can be a stressful time for families trying to kit out several children at once and re-using clothing helps reduce the amount reaching landfill.

"We will have a range of all uniform items for Forres area schools available, mainly P1 to 7 sizes, though some items for older pupils are available, particularly shirts and trousers."

Donations of clean school uniform items in good condition are welcome to be left inside the main door at St John's Church on Victoria Road.

Fair attendees are invited to give cash donations to support Moray School Bank, but this is not compulsory.

Ms Joyce said: "We welcome preloved school uniform items for Forres area schools, mainly for primary ages but will accept items for older pupils as well.

"The fairs are becoming increasingly popular. Thank you for your continued support of this initiative. Please help to spread the word by sharing this post with friends and other parents."
