Insp Meikleham said: “The monthly Community Safety Report issued to community councils is currently under a local review process. PC Squair will be leading locally on community matters going forward. The report should return to its similar amount of detail from this month.”

The report covering the Forres area in October lists just six crimes.

Three incidents of assault were been reported to Forres police, two of which were reported to the Procurator Fiscal. Enquiries are ongoing with the other.

One incident of a domestic nature was dealt with by police and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

One incident of theft by housebreaking was reported. Enquiries are continuing.

Road police have been conducting proactive patrols in all areas. There was a report of drink driving which again was reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

The short report was discussed at Forres Community Council where member and local officer Kevin Skivington mentioned teenagers from other towns causing trouble in Forres on Bonfire Night.

However, Insp Meikleham confirmed no calls were made to the police.

He said: “There was reported minor youth annoyance on High Street. However, this was well after the fireworks had finished and unrelated. I have also spoken with the officers deployed at the event and organiser Carlo Miele who state the it passed well with no issues.”
