Police checking drains and bins as Kiesha Donaghy murder investigation continues

Detectives are going door-to-door as a major police investigation continues into the murder of Elgin mum-of-two Kiesha Donaghy.
Officers are talking to locals who live near to the crime scene on Anderson Drive in the hope of learning extra information which might help them catch the 32-year-old's killer.
The police tape which originally surrounded the crime scene has now been taken down, but six police vans are parked outside Kiesha's flat, which is one of four in the same block.
Meanwhile, several officers dressed in overalls are checking the drains in the area, placing any items which might be relevant into plastic evidence bags.
Others have also been looking through rubbish bins in the neighbourhood, emptying out their contents onto a tarpaulin sheet in order to sift through them.
As an officer stands on duty in the stairwall of Kiesha's flat, a forensics team have been busy inside.
Kiesha's body was discovered in her home during the evening of Thursday, November 16.
Following a post-mortem the police stated she had suffered a "violent" attack and sustained head injuries.
Graham Leadbitter, a former leader of Moray Council, has represented the Elgin South ward for many years.
He said: "Something awful has happened and people need to pull together and support each other.
"I'd appeal to everyone to pass on any information, no matter how trivial they might think it is. Let the police decide if it's important or not."
One of the officers leading the investigation, Detective Superintendent Lorna Ferguson, asked for the public's help at a press conference earlier this week.
She said: "I've got over 40 officers working in Elgin from major crime investigation, local CID (criminal investigation department) and local policing.
"We have got a team working on this and a thorough investigation has been carried out. We have spoken to neighbours who have been extremely helpful and furnished us with information that we are progressing as part of the investigation.
"I would once again urge anyone who believes may have information which could help our investigation to come forward and speak to us."
