POLICE are appealing for information following a break-in to a recycling centre in Forres.

The incident happened at Moray Waste Busters (MWB) on Waterford Road some time after it closed on Sunday, January 26 and the morning of Monday, January 27.

Inspector Keli McPhail, of Forres Community Policing, said: "There has been some damage to the inside of the recycling centre as well as some items stolen.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area overnight or the early hours to get in contact with police.

"I would also ask that if anyone has any dashcam footage and was driving around the area at the time to please get in contact with officers."

She added: "It is possible that whoever did this will do it again somewhere else, so I would ask the community if you see anything out of place or looks strange when out late or early morning then please call us."

A spokesperson at MWB confirmed the incident was being investigated fully.

She added: "At this time I have no further info' unfortunately as we’re still dealing with it."
