Lego consists of interlocking plastic bricks. The name is derived from the Danish words ‘leg godt’, meaning ‘play well’.

Senior library and information assistant, Belinda Matthewman, confirmed booking a place at Forres Library Lego Club is essential.

She said: “The children build wonderful creations. Playing with Lego develops fine motor skills, helps improve focus and concentration, problem solving and creativity. It allows children a sense of accomplishment and pride, and builds their self-confidence. Being part of the club is also a great team working and social activity.”

Mrs Matthewman added: "The Lego Club always welcomes donations, so if you have any unwanted Lego please consider offering this to Forres Library.

"We hope to launch a new Duplo Club for pre-school children so Duplo Lego would also be gratefully received."
