THOUSANDS of families gathered last weekend for Brodie Castle’s annual Easter trail.
The event, which ran from Friday, March 29 to Monday, April 1, saw around 10,000 visitors tackle two trails.
Free face painting and Easter crafts were also on offer, alongside entertainment from Spencer’s Funfair and the ever-popular Playful Garden.
Also keeping families entertained was clown Mr Bubbles, who wowed the crowd with juggling and plate spinning.
Visitor services supervisor at Brodie Castle Lorna Leil said there was “something for everybody” throughout the weekend.
She said: “Whatever you like, you’ll find it here. Castle tours were offered over the weekend as well which were really popular.
“So if you’re a history buff, there’s something for you. If you like scenery, there’s something for you. If you’re just five years old and want to play, there’s something for you too.”
Children were tasked with seeking out 16 hidden letters to make up a word.
Young detectives who discovered the word were rewarded with a tasty Easter egg.
“We didn’t do an anagram this year, which is what we normally do,” she added.
“The 16 letter word was daffadown dillies – the old word for daffodils.
“Brodie is so well-known for its daffodils and our national collection of daffodils. We thought it was a nice Brodie word.”
The team at Brodie Castle worked with Moo-Free, which provides free-from and vegan Easter eggs, to ensure there was something for every child.
Lorna said: “It’s about letting people enjoy themselves and making them happy and we couldn’t do that without our staff and volunteers because honestly we don’t have a massive team.
“We have a small team who work exceptionally hard. We all help each other out, and work together.”
