The event which was set up at Gordonstoun school was attended by about 75 school pupils from Milnes High, Speyside High, Elgin High, Forres Academy, Lossie High, and Gordonstoun.

The festival aimed to introduce new or relatively inexperienced players to the sport of tennis, promote the local clubs in Moray and encourage more young people to take part.

Hamish McBain from Rothes Tennis Club said: "The event went really well, all the young people enjoyed themselves. We got a lot of matches played and Derek Brown the coach kept it all running smoothly.

"Even when matches were being played, there were kids waiting to go on, which shows the amount of interest in tennis among the youngsters, overall it seemed to be a really good day for the club, the schools and all the kids. We're grateful to Gordonstoun for hosting the festival and for their support."
