Youngsters from four schools in Moray joined forces with Scottish Opera to perform an intergalactic adventure story.
The Last Aliens had pupils from Mosstowie, Alves, Dallas and Logie primaries in its cast.
Each learned the words and actions at their individual schools, with the help of a video.
Then, on the morning of the performance, just over 80 of them got together with three professional singers from Scottish Opera for a run-through.
Next it was off to Miltonduff Hall for the performance in the afternoon.
Garry Forgie, the head at Mosstowie, said: "The show was really clever – but then Scottish Opera shows always are.
"I've been teaching for 30 years and have seen about 20 during that time on every subject from Robbie Burns to Chinese Emperors, and they never disappoint.
"It was a shame that we couldn't have any parents inside the hall due to the pandemic.
"However the older pupils got to perform in front of a very appreciative audience of our P1s to P4s."
Youngsters from Alves took the role of aliens.
Mosstowie pupils made up the military.
Meanwhile Logie and Dallas played scientists.
And the whole production was captured on film.
Now there are plans to go back to the hall with some popcorn so the performers can watch themselves on a big screen.
Mr Forgie said: "The show this year had a little bit of extra oomph because of having to cancel it before.
"And the fact there were four schools involved taught the pupils a lot about teamwork
"But, even more importantly, they absolutely loved doing it."
