Over 700 Moray households will soon be eligible for a one-off payment to buy food, fuel and other essentials.

It's thought that about £163,000 will be made available locally under the Scottish Government's Flexible Food Fund, which has been newly expanded to also include fuel costs.

Residents will be able to make claims from January 5 until the end of March.

A Moray Council spokesperson said: "Entitlement is based on individual household circumstances and is part of a wider package of support provided by Money Advice Moray.

"Organisations and support services acting on behalf of those in need can refer clients by completing the referral form."
