One new coronavirus case confirmed in Moray

ONE new case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Moray overnight, taking the area's total since the outbreak began to 78.

The case is the first confirmed in Moray since Monday.

Ten new cases were confirmed across the NHS Grampian area overnight – an increase on the three confirmed yesterday. The health board now has now confirmed 1269 cases.

Aberdeenshire has 429 positive cases, an increase of three overnight, with Aberdeen City having 749, an increase of six overnight. Highland council has seen no rise with confirmed cases remaining at 195.

At midnight, there were 65 people in NHS Grampian hospitals in relation to coronavirus, with five in intensive care.

Across Scotland, the number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus and died within 28 days is now 2331. That is an increase of 15 deaths overnight.

A total of 111,085 people have been tested for the virus in Scotland, with 95,758 negative and 15,327 positive.

The number of patients discharged from hospital is 3640. That is an increase of five overnight.
