An online meeting for those interested in taking part is due to be held on Tuesday, March 21 from 11am to 1pm.

Behind the initiative is Disability Equality Scotland, the umbrella body for Access Panels in Scotland, and they need members to start a group in Moray. These panels work to improve physical access and wider social inclusion for disabled people.

They are made up of groups of local volunteers, including disabled people, who come together to improve access in their local communities.

This does not just extend to access to the built environment; access panels are increasingly concerned with access in the fullest sense, including roads, employment, education, health, transport, the countryside and leisure and recreation.

In addition to helping our their local community, access panel members can help learn new skills help with promotional campaigns or give support at events, help with research and publicity.
