WOULD you like a handy list of all of the local groups offering activities?

Forres Area Community Trust (FACT) has compiled the second edition of a ‘Directory of Services’, available for free in local public buildings.

FACT Cameron Project support officer, Frances Anderson, confirmed the booklet has been designed to replace the 2017 version.

She said: “The directory is designed to highlight organisations of use to people, intended as a first stop for those who can’t get online to research what is in the area. The listings are clearly defined in sections so readers can easily find information they need.”

The first edition, aimed at the over-50s, was published in 2017 after feedback from a ‘Spirit of Community’ event hosted by FACT at Forres Town Hall which invited attendees to express local needs.

Frances coordinates the Cameron Project based at the town hall, a service that helps isolated and lonely residents.

She said: “The basic details are the same but the directory is now for everyone, not just the over 50’s.

"Updating entailed contacting all the original groups and organisations in the booklet to confirm whether they still exist and that the contact details are correct.

"Also, enquiring about new groups that have started and improving the format to make it more readable."

The directory was funded by the Moray Local Action Fund, tsiMoray and Beatrice Offshore Windfarm.

Large print copies are available upon request. The directory will be updated quarterly going forward and made available on FACT's website.
