ROCKET company Orbex has announced the appointment of a new chief commercial officer.
Orbex, which is headquartered in Forres, named John Bone in the role as it continues to prepare for the launch of Orbex Prime, expected to be the United Kingdom's first vertical rocket launch.
John Bone has more than 20 years in the space industry, including 18 years in Director or C-level positions.
He has been instrumental in the growth of various organisations in the sector, and has played a pivotal role in supporting the north east space industry's growth since 2014 as the chair of the North East Space Leadership Group.
In his new role, John will be responsible for driving the commercial strategy of Orbex, nurturing key partnerships and expanding Orbex's presence in the global space market.
On his appointment, John said: "Joining Orbex at this exciting time is a great honour.
