FORRES Mechanics' Mosset Park home is set to be used as a vaccination centre five days a week starting from Monday, February 15.

The first jabs were given at Mosset Park on February 1, with the ground initially due to operate as a vaccination hub every Monday until May.

But, after just two weeks, the NHS have decided to ramp up their vaccination programme in Forres meaning the hub will operate five days a week, Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm.

Forres Mechanics chairman Dave MacDonald said: "We are delighted to extend our opening times and assist the NHS to complete their vaccinations.

"The NHS contacted us and asked if our facilities would be available for the full five days and we happily agreed to that.

"Hopefully this will mean more Forres folk can get their jab in town, rather than going to Elgin.

"It's good for the community. I know myself after getting my vaccination that it can bring some relief, but we still have to exercise caution and wait patiently for the second jabs."

Moray's main hub – the Fiona Elcock Vaccination Centre, which is at the former Topps Tiles site on Elgin's Edgar Road – is now operating seven days a week.

While Mosset Park will host jabs for many locals, Forres folk will continue to be invited through to Elgin for their vaccination, too.
