Moray Volunteer Marketplace session to join Big Help Out coronation celebrations

TO mark the coronation of King Charles III, thousands of organisations across the country are getting together under The Big Help Out umbrella.

This will see people from all walks of life encouraged to come together and help out their local communities.

As part of The Big Help Out, the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) are working closely with tsiMoray and Moray Pathways to host a drop-in Volunteer Marketplace in Moray Pathways Hub where their customers can attend and source local volunteering opportunities which will suit helping hands of all shapes and sizes.

Forres-based DWP employer and partnership manager Jane Munro said: "We are fully aware that volunteering can make a real different to peoples lives and help them take steps towards employment in some instances.

"Giving back really does will improve wellbeing and help equip people with skills for the future. One of DWP’s priorities is to support customers that have a health condition/disability and volunteering is great for supporting these customers and helping them move forward, too."

Organisations signed up at the time of writing are: British Legion; Clan Cancer Support; Forres Area Community Trust; Mentoring Young Talent; Mikeysline; North East Sensory Services; REAP; Step by Step; tsiMoray.

The event will take place this Friday from 10am-12 noon at Moray Pathways, @The Inkwell, Francis Place, Elgin.
