Moray Council is asking residents visiting its recycling centres over the festive period to be patient and abide by the Covid safety measures in place.
While a booking system is still in operation at the Chanonry site in Elgin, all the over centres in Moray have open access.
Therefore, the council is asking site users to come back later or go elsewhere if they see a centre is crowded.
In addition, they are asking people to keep their distance from each other and also to sanitise their hands both before and afterwards.
Mike Neary, the council's waste manager said: "We’re well into our busiest time of the year now.
"Our crews are dedicated to keeping access as safe and free flowing as possible.
"But we rely on residents taking responsibility for their actions on site, too.
"Keeping your distance from others shows respect to our staff.
"It also helps to protect yourself and others from the spread of Covid-19.
"It’s also important to be aware of other vehicles and pedestrians, particularly when our crews are emptying skips and clearing the way for more recycling to be deposited.
"In Elgin, the second half of appointment 20-minute time slots can be less busy, so I’d ask those booking to consider attending then if they can."
Mr Neary is also encouraging residents to try pass on old toys to others, rather than throwing the out.
He added: "As always, my thanks go to our crews who are helping dispose of the increased packaging and waste we get at this time of year, and to the vast majority of users who help keep everyone safe on site."
