Scott Innes took this photo while walking the dogs along the railway line path at Forres.

This owl along with two other animal-related sculptures nearby are the work of Garry Shand, a professional wood carver from Drummuir.

Garry was hired after a number of lime, sycamore and ash trees were cut down last year by the civil engineering firm BAM Nuttal.

His company's name is GS Chainsaw Sculpture and that's the implement he used to transform the trees stumps into works of art.

The two other sculptures show a hare and a snail.
