THE Moray Growth Deal team has been officially invited to make a bid.

Liz Truss, MP and chief secretary to the Treasury, was in Moray last Friday to give the green light to the Moray Growth Deal proposals.

Speaking about the prospect of securing a growth deal for the area, she said: "The UK government is committing more than £1 billion to support Scottish city region deals since 2014. The deals attract new talent to the area, create better access to technology and improve the local transport system. I've invited a bid for a Moray Growth Deal and I look forward to receiving ambitious proposals to unlock growth and productivity in the region."

Moray is hoping for a £200 million growth deal, which would incorporate 14 projects.
