MORAY Council is inviting feedback from residents on rules it has drafted for people holding allotments on sites it owns and manages.
The public consultation document, available on its website, is a statutory requirement of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.
Chairwoman of the council’s corporate committee, Councillor Bridget Mustard, said: “Community feedback is essential in ensuring we have in place a set of Allotment Regulations that help support, regulate, and facilitate more activity.
"I would encourage people to take part in this exercise.”
A hard copy can be viewed at Moray Council HQ, at the annex building on Elgin High Street, as well as in all Moray libraries, and at the Elgin Allotments Association on Ashgrove Road.
The consultation is open until December 18, 2023 and responses can be emailed to CSU@moray.gov.uk, or posted to Moray Council Office (CSU – Allotments), High Street, Elgin, IV30 1BX.
