Cats Protection’s Moray branch is looking for an organised and confident person to fill the role of Adoption Team Leader who will oversee the homing of cats. The role also involves providing the first port of call for people enquiring about cat adoption and ensuring the right cat goes to the right home.

A Fundraising Team Leader is also required to help inspire and support fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local events, which raise vital funds to cover costs such as vet bills and food.

Alongside the team leader roles, the branch also needs to recruit more fosterers, who provide a stable, safe and loving environment for cats in their homes or in purpose-built pens in their gardens. Fosterers provide hands-on care and accommodation for abandoned and homeless cats before they go off to their new homes.

People interested in becoming a fosterer need to have a dedicated room for a foster cat or kittens or space for a garden cat pen, as well as an appreciation of cat welfare and hygiene standards. Training is provided, along with all necessary equipment.

Area Branch Development Manager Lona Johnson said: “The Moray Branch does a huge amount of work to help local cats, but it really needs some new people to join the team to ensure it can help as many cats and kittens as possible.

“Volunteering for Cats Protection is a rewarding experience because it provides the opportunity to be part of a truly worthwhile cause. The volunteers gain a lot of satisfaction from giving unwanted cats a second chance in life, as well as working with like-minded people, so if this sounds of interest then please get in touch.”

For more information about volunteering with the Moray branch, then please email bsunorth@cats.org.uk or call 03000 12 12 12.
