Moray arts organisations invited to apply for grants
MORAY organisations in the arts, culture and heritage sectors are being invited to apply for grants of up to £20,000, funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The £100,000 scheme will cover revenue costs only. This means that it can fund costs associated with, but not limited to, laying on events, performances or activities, or covering running costs, wages and professional fees, or trips and excursions.
Applicants can apply for up to £20,000 if they represent a group of organisations working in partnership. Solo organisations can apply for grants of up to £10,000.
Arts, culture and heritage organisations will be invited to vote for the projects they feel should be awarded a grant. This invitation-only event will take place on January 19, with more details to be confirmed.
The funding is being distributed through a process known as Participatory Budgeting. It allows local people to shape council spend to best meet local need, in this case through informing who is awarded a grant.
Economic, Development and Infrastructure Services committee chair, councillor Marc Macrae (Fochabers-Lhanbryde), said: “This is a great opportunity for local community groups and organisations in the arts, culture and heritage areas to apply for the available funding, which could help them grow their organisation and activities."
Apply here on the council’s website until January 8, 2024, when the scheme closes.
