A minute's silence will be held on Scotland's railways to pay tribute to the three people who died in the crash near Stonehaven.

The silence is timed to take place exactly a week after the tragedy.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: "To mark the passing of our colleagues Brett McCullough and Donald Dinnie, and our passenger Christopher Stuchbury, Scotland’s Railway will fall silent for one minute at 9.43am on Wednesday.

"We will be supported by colleagues elsewhere in Britain, including Abellio and Network Rail.

"Our hearts remain broken and will do for a long time.

"We hope that by coming together as a railway family, along with the local community and people across the country, we can support one another through this horrendous time."
