Man accused of hospitalising 84-year-old woman in her Forres home named as Scott McCulloch

THE 25-year-old man accused of putting an 84-year-old Forres woman in hospital with serious injuries has been named.

Scott McCulloch appeared in Inverness Sheriff Court today (Tuesday, August 30) and made no plea to charges of assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.

At around 10pm on Sunday, August 28, police were called to Oyster Catcher Close, Knockomie Braes, Forres following a report of an 84-year-old woman being assaulted. The woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries.

McCulloch has been committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

His next court appearance is expected within the next eight days.
