AFTER its successful debut running in 2022, MacMoray Family Easter Festival is set to return to Elgin – bigger and better – next year.
A sell-out crowd of 7500 attended the maiden MacMoray Festival, headlined by The Boomtown Rats, at Cooper Park in April.
MORE: Success for MacMoray Festival.
Due to its overwhelming success, MacMoray will return next year – but will sprawl across two days on the May Bank Holiday weekend of April 29 and 30, 2023.
This will mean more customers, who will be able to purchase a ticket for either the Saturday, Sunday or both days.
In addition to the festival being over two days, problems that arose this year, surrounding the bar and ladies toilet for example, are set to be ironed out at MacMoray's second running.
"We are going to make it two days and make it bigger and better," organiser Andy Macdonald explained.
"We are fully prepared to bring something even more special to Moray.
"We are going for twice as many bars, a better VIP area and facilities which will include meet and greets, more toilets, more entrances including a VIP entrance.
"We will be adding a lot more child entertainment and fun things to do. We will have two outdoor stages and lots more that we will announce in time.
"The only way for MacMoray is up and we are just so excited to announce all our new artists. I’m really confident that all our MacMoray customers will not be disappointed."
MORE: Bands wax lyrical about MacMoray Festival.
Eight different bands performed on the main stage at this year's show – with plenty more on the second stage.
All acts had a positive experience, which Mr Macdonald hopes will help encourage more bands to attend in 2023.
