Forres school girl Violet-Rose Haggan to compete in Miss Teen Great Britain beauty pageant

A SCHOOLGIRL from Forres is to represent Moray in a British beauty pageant.

Applegrove Primary pupil, Violet-Rose Haggan (9) is a pageant professional, having been a finalist and winner in several other competitions, including The Face of Scotland, Miss Saltire and Miss Scotland's Little Miss Sparkle contest.

The pandemic put Violet's aspiration's on hold so she is even more excited to compete in the 'Little Miss' category of the Miss Teen Great Britain beauty pageant and hopes to bring the crown back to Forres.

The competition takes place in October, and semi-finalists are chosen from applicants aged 10-19 from all areas of the UK.

Violet-Rose's Mum, Samantha Mcneil said: "This is such a amazing opportunity for her and a dream come true. I'm very proud of all her achievements at such a young age.

"We are both very happy. Violet has been asking me to go back to pageants for some while now, because she really enjoys doing them.

"Unfortunately Covid put them on hold, but now that it’s settled down a bit, she's very excited for what the future has in store. She's really excited about going back to them as she has such a great time at them."
