A community picnic celebrating a special local building has been postponed.

Organisers ‘Our Leanchoil’ have rearranged the event in the grounds of the former hospital on St Leonard’s Road planned for midday to 4pm on Saturday, September 17, changed to Saturday, October 1 in respect of the official period of mourning for the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Aspects of historical online project will be on display and there will be representatives from Healthworks, Forres Friends of Woods and Fields, Wild Things, Qi Gong, Singing, Gardening and Naturally Useful on-hand.

Over the last nine months, volunteers completed oral history training and interviewed participants at Memory Tea events which brought together people who worked at or visited Leanchoil. Over 150 photographs have been scanned and many stories recorded.
