Police Constable Yvonne Squair joins PC Aaron White as Community Police Officer in Forres

A police officer with 23 years of service to the Force wants to use her experience to make the local area an even better place to live.
Police Constable Yvonne Squair has joined PC Aaron White as a Community Police Officer in Forres, taking over the role from PC Michelle MacDonald.
PC Squair has not worked in Forres previously and is looking forward to getting to know the community.
She said: “I hope to get back to basics, out and about on foot as much as possible and eventually become a recognisable face who folk are comfortable approaching with any issues they might have.
“So far I have been well received with many people stopping for a chat.”
She added: “One of the most common complaints from local members of the public so far has been the availability of officers - I hope to address this in the coming months.
“I also intend to work closely with schools and other agencies to tackle issues which affect the wider community.”
PC Squair’s career has spanned various roles across Moray including community work in Elgin and Fochabers.
For the last four years she has been the group co-ordinator for Police Scotland Youth Volunteers Moray. This involved promoting young people within the community and developing their lifes kills through volunteering, as well as giving them an insight into the police service.
It was a role PC Squair thoroughly enjoyed. It also resulted in the proudest moment of her career when the group won the Community Award at the Moray Young Citizen Awards in 2020.
Although she has no ties to Forres, PC Squair has lived in Moray throughout her life.
She finished: “I love it here. Moray has everything in terms of facilities. It’s a beautiful place to live.”
