The Leonore Piano Trio will visit Nairn Community & Arts Centre on Sunday April 23 to perform as part of the Music Nairn concert series.

Formed in 2012, the Leonore Piano Trio brings together three internationally acclaimed artists whose piano trio performances as part of Ensemble 360 were met with such enthusiastic response that they decided to form their own group.

The trio is typically formed of Benjamin Nabarro (violin), Gemma Rosefield (cello) and Tim Horton (piano) and have performed worldwide as The Leonore Piano Trio.

However, as a result of an injury, the concert will take place without the trio's violinist Benjamin Nabarro.

A spokesperson for Music Nairn said: "Music Nairn would like to apologise for an unavoidable change to this concert due to an injury to the violinist.

"On balance we felt that the majority of the audience would rather have a concert from the cellist and pianist who regularly perform as a duo, than no concert at all."

The programme for the concert is appealing and varied, starting with a short witty set of variations by Martinu based on a Rossini theme, and concluding with the glorious Rachmaninov Sonata for cello and piano.

Between will be two solo items, Bach Cello Suite no 3, and two of Chopin's op 27 Nocturnes for piano.

They added: "We very much hope you will support this new programme, but if you have already purchased tickets via the Nairn Community Centre and do not wish to attend then a refund can be arranged."

The concert will take place at 7.30pm on Sunday April 23.

Advance tickets for the concert are available from Nairn Community & Arts Centre in person, by phone: 01667 453476), or on www.nairncc.co.uk.

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £3 for students. Tickets will also be available to purchase on the day.
