HEAVY rain and gale-force winds of up to 60mph are both being predicted for Moray and Aberdeenshire this coming Wednesday.

The Met Office has released a yellow warning from noon that day until 7am the following morning.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Strong winds associated with Storm Agnes are expected to move northeast on Wednesday, with the chance they could be significantly disruptive.

"Longer journey times are likely as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected. Some roads and bridges are likely to close."

Storm Agnes, it's added, could lead to flying debris and damage to buildings.
