A LOCAL hairdressers has been awarded a five star rating by a UK-wide assessor.
Solo Hair Design owner Lisa Lawrence is thrilled with the valuation from the Good Salon Guide (GSG), the only independent guide to quality standards in hairdressing in the UK and Ireland.
She said: "It’s great, not only for our clients, but for our team to know that Solo has reached such high standards. It makes us all very excited about the future of our salon.
"I’m proud to run a successful business in Forres and play my part in keeping the High Street busy."
Stephanie Albinson carried out the full inspection of the five-year-old business, taking the salon environment and customer service into account.
She said: "A good rating shows the salon has suitably trained and qualified staff, top quality products and aims to achieve and maintain the highest standards.
"Solo demonstrated top customer service from a meet-and-greet from Wendy Davidson at the front of the house, to the lovely home-made cookies with refreshments from an extensive menu."
She added: "Being a Wella salon, they offer top quality retail product with the ongoing training that comes from such a reputable brand."
Lisa employs seven members of staff, including younger employees gaining valuable experience in the industry, something she is keen to encourage. They all want to provide clients with the best possible experience.
Lisa said: "We have met some wonderful people and making customers happy is what drives us. We aim to be about more than just great hair.
"When I first opened, there were a lot of people commenting 'not another hairdressers'. Hopefully this five star rating, along with our will to continually improve, shows that Solo is not just another hairdressers."
