WATCH: Grease is the word in Forres as Highland Youth Theatre T-Birds perform in GT Tyres garage

AHEAD of their upcoming production of Grease, Highland Youth Theatre's T-Birds have electrified Forres with a preview in a local garage.
The hopelessly devoted performers visited GT Tyres, who have helped to sponsor the show, and put on a very special performance of Greased Lightnin' in their garage.
Principal of Highland Youth Theatre's Moray School, Gillian Murdoch said: "All of our sponsors have been amazing and GT Tyres really went above and beyond for us.
"Having all of these bits of sponsorship has really enhanced the community feel of the show and the boys were so excited. As you can imagine, 16-year-old boys getting to go into a garage and sing and dance on a car – they were having a great time."
After months of hard work, the group of senior students are gearing up for their run at Forres Town Hall, with performances of the musical taking place from Thursday June 22 – Saturday June 24.
The group of around 30 pupils, who come from across Moray were praised for their dedication to the show.
Gillian said: "This is the biggest production we have ever done, we have a really strong senior cast which meant we were able to take on the challenge of a show like Grease.
"We have been working on the show since November and it has been lots of fun. Our young people have gotten so much out of it and even though they have all had their exams and other things on, they all just work so hard.
"It has been a fantastic process and they have absolutely loved it, we're really looking forward to everyone coming to see it."
Along with the show, the group have also created an exhibition which will be feature in the town hall's gallery. The exhibition, titled Full Leather Jacket, will showcase the stories behind the leather jackets which were donated by members of the public.
Dave Philip Manager at GT Tyres said: "We thought letting them come in and perform in the garage sounded like a lot of fun and it certainly was. Its always great to see young people doing really positive stuff and are happy to be a part of it and glad we could help. We're looking forward to seeing the show."
