A FORRES mum hopes to raise funds for IVF to complete her family.

Customer service advisor, Danielle Beaton (27), discovered a tumour in her lung during her initial IVF treatment and pregnancy four years ago but, with help, gave birth to Anna, who is now three-years-old.

Danielle has learned to live with the illness and would now love to have a sibling for Anna with her husband, fork lift driver, Michael (26).

She explained: “We already have a baby through NHS funding so we have to self fund for more IVF. We’ve saved, we still fall short but we’re not giving up on our dream.”

The Beatons have faced a number of challenges in the last three years. Whilst pregnant, a tumour was found in Danielle’s lung but after two years of chemotherapy and operations she has a more or less normal life.

Danielle said: “I’ll always have the tumour but it will never hold us back. We now want to be a family of four which we know won’t come without challenges. We struggle with infertility but were blessed to have successful IVF treatment before. We waited a year after my cancer treatment before we could even think about having another baby due to all the medications. But the specialists have now given us the all clear for me to undergo IVF again.”

Danielle’s tumour still affects her everyday life but she focuses on being the best mum she can be.

She said: “It has limited what I can do and causes me pain but I’ve learned to live with it and make the most of life. Michael and I would be over the moon for our little girl to have a sibling as family means everything to us.”

‘In vitro fertilisation’ (IVF) involves monitoring and stimulating a woman’s ovulatory process, removing an egg or eggs from their ovaries and letting sperm fertilise them in a laboratory. After the fertilised egg undergoes embryo culture it is implanted in the uterus, with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy.

The couple found IVF difficult four years ago but are willing to try it again if they can raise enough funding.

Danielle said: “We took IVF in our stride. Each step was a step closer to becoming parents so it didn’t matter how difficult it was. When it worked the first time. Our dreams came true when we had a beautiful daughter!”

Danielle and Michael are still saving but appealing for help via a crowdfunding campaign.

Danielle said: “We would really appreciate any donations. Even if we only gain a tiny amount from this we would be honoured.”
