Plans to turn a bothy in the middle of Roseisle Forest into a holiday home are due to go before Moray Council again.

The local authority is set this coming Tuesday to hear an application regarding the Millie Bothy.

Brought by Aurora Planning on behalf of the owners, Millie Bothy Ltd, the fresh application is the third attempt to gain planning permission for the site.

Similar plans submitted in 2018 and 2021 were denied after thousands signed petitions against developing the bothy.

Ahead of Tuesday, a total of 258 comments have been received objecting to the revised plans, while a further 36 are in support.

Council officers are recommending that members of the planning committee refuse permission again.

Now derelict, the Millie Bothy was built in the mid-1800s and stands close to the beach as well as besides both a well-used footpath and the Millie Burn.

Until the 1970s the bothy was used by fishermen, who would occupy it for six months of the year while they landed their hauls.
