Fresh bid to build on old Tesco site in Forres

Planning officers are recommending that a revised bid to build homes on the former Tesco site in Forres is allowed.

St Machar Properties has re-submitted a planning application to build 48 affordable homes at Caroline Street.

The proposal will be decided upon on Tuesday by the elected councillors who sit on Moray Council's planning committee.

The site that has been unused since the year 2002.

Several objections have been raised the plans by members of the public.

Amongst the concerns are the impact the development might have on the traffic network as well as neighbouring properties.

Redco Milne was unsuccessful in attempts to build a retail development on the site in 2015, then again in 2016 when they lodged an application for 80 affordable housing units in three areas around Caroline Street.
