Moray West Community Council Report from Police Scotland lists 14 crimes committed in Forres area in September 2023

THE POLICE’S account for September lists 14 offences committed in-and-around Forres.

Antisocial behaviour, violence and disorder, acquisitive and road crime are listed in the Moray West Community Council Report.

Enquiries are being followed for two reports of shoplifting

There were four reports of online fraud connected to Facebook Marketplace. Victims paid for items but did not receive them. All enquiries are ongoing.

Three people were charged and reported to the procurator fiscal for driving with no insurance and one for careless driving.

Inspector Andrew Meikleham, added Forres Police Station opened its doors to the public as part of Moray Open Doors Day 2023 on Saturday, September 23.

He said: “Members of the public were shown around the police station, police cars, learnt about the history of Police Scotland and met police dogs Ice and Beans.

“It was a very successful day with positive feedback from all those that attended.”
