Personal trainer Mollie Powney is presented with July's DYW Moray Employer Recognition Award

A PERSONAL trainer from Forres has been presented with the Developing the Young Workforce's Moray Employer Recognition Award.

Mollie Powney, who is a former Forres Academy pupil, has devoted hours of time to helping young people at the school and its feeder primary schools.

From creating written content and featuring in industry videos to delivering hands-on practical health an fitness workshops and awareness sessions, Mollie has created so many opportunities for our Moray's young people.

She has helped a number of learners better understand the careers available locally in the sport and fitness industry, as well as showing that exercise can be fun and accessible for all.

Mollie is a level four personal trainer and has recently secured a premises for her new business called Project Neuro, which aims to support people with neurological conditions or chronic illnesses.

She said: "It has been a pleasure working alongside DYW and I look forward to continuing to do so.

"Thank you to the wonderful staff who have made opportunities possible for so many."

This month marks a whole year of the DYW Moray Team presenting their Employer Recognition Award.

The award seeks to recognise and thank local employers for their work with DYW Moray and their commitment to inspiring Moray's young people to better prepare them for the world of work.

DYW school coordinator Carinne Taylor said: “It was a pleasure to present this month’s Employer Recognition Award to Mollie.

"Mollie is a very worthy recipient of this award and is an incredible inspiration, showing what can be achieved with hard work and a can-do attitude.

"She has done and continues to do a huge amount of work with Forres Academy and associated primary schools.

"Her achievements speak volumes and are a perfect example of the remarkable young people we have in Forres and in Moray as a whole."
