FORRES Area Community Trust (FACT) is creating a record of life in a building that has hosted thousands of groups and events during its long history in the centre of town.

Development manager, Debbie Herron, confirmed FACT is inviting memories from the general public and meeting with current user groups to gather stories for the ‘Town Hall Tales’ project.

She said: “Please share your stories and have them recorded at the Forres Online drop-in sessions from 2-4pm on Tuesday March 28 or April 4.

“Did you see the Beatles play here? Did you meet your partner on the dance floor? Did you ever tread the boards of the stage? Let us know!”

Memories can also be written and delivered to Ilona through info@forresarea.org FAO Ilona or via https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/29YLL22

“At the end of the project, we’ll have a Wee Hoolie on Friday, April 28 to celebrate the town hall and what has taken place here,” said Debbie. “We would love to have a display of photographs – if you have any please lend them to Ilona at FACT.”

Town Hall Tales is being supported with a £2000 grant from the Moray Local Action Fund administered by tsiMORAY.
