A TEAM selected from netball sessions at Forres House Community Centre played seven others at the annual Gordonstoun School tournament in aid of breast cancer charities, helping to raise nearly £1000.

Former Moray Councillor Lorna Creswell was in the squad named ‘Forres Ball Busters’ for the competition.

She said: “We played in the indoor facility and outdoors. Some of the opposition were more experienced and play regularly in leagues. We wore pink and enjoyed competing for the first time. Inverness were overall winners. It was very hot but we had a great time!”

All are welcome to join the practice sessions at Forres House from 7pm on Thursdays. Around 15 players currently attend.

Lorna said “We warm up round the hall then do drills, exercises in passing then play games umpired by our coach. We often swap positions so beginners get a full introduction to the game.”

Lorna enjoys actually playing most.

She finished: “We have the hall marked out to help new players understand which position covers which part of the court.”
