THE future of Forres Mechanics' Mosset Park home is looking bright thanks to new floodlights.

The club thanked grant funders and supporters for helping them raise the money to invest a total of £110,000 into the new system.

The modern, low-energy floodlight system was installed over the summer and the lights were commissioned in September.

It provides twice the illumination of the old lights, with an average light level of 332 lux, at less than half the running cost.

A Forres Mechanics spokesperson said: "The club would like to give a sincere thanks to the many who assisted with delivery of the project.

"We now have a floodlight system which greatly enhances Mosset Park and will stand the club in good stead for the future. The contractors were a pleasure to work with."

The system was designed, supplied and installed by Halliday Lighting of Edinburgh. The civils work, which included foundations and cable laying, was completed by Scotplant Contractors Ltd of Huntly.

AJ Engineering – Mechanics' main sponsor – dismantled the old lights and were on hand to provide construction advice as and when required.

Funding for the project was provided by grants from four organisations plus donations received from supporters through the online funding appeal and the fundraising events.

Forres Mechanics acknowledged grants from Berry Burn Community Fund, Forres Common Good, ScoOsh Landfill Communities Fund and the UK Government Department of Culture, Media & Sport/SFA.
