Moray trio Roy Dennis, John MacKintosh and Veronica Maclean named in King's New Year Honours List

THREE Moray names are on King Charles' maiden New Year Honours List - including two from Forres.
Roy Dennis, John MacKintosh and Veronica Maclean have been honoured for invaluable work carried out in the area.
Forres' Roy Dennis has been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to wildlife.
Mr Dennis, who was made an MBE in 1992, set up the Roy Dennis Foundation in 1995. The foundation has worked on animal restoration projects close to home and abroad.
In 2021, he was awarded the RSPB Medal, which is the most prestigious award the UK charity confers with other recipients including Sir David Attenborough.
John MacKintosh and Veronica Maclean have been awarded Medals of the Order of the British Empire (BEMs) for services to cancer patients.'
Mr MacKintosh, who is originally from Forres, has been honoured for voluntary services to cancer patients, as well as service to the community of Elgin.
Mr MacKintosh is a fundraiser with Cancer Research UK and has been involved with the running of the shop for a number of years.
Ms Maclean, from Elgin, has dedicated much of her life to Moray charities and was honoured for her essential work with Marie Curie, as well as her services to PoppyScotland and children's charities Step by Step and Children 1st.
She was key in setting up the Marie Curie Moray Fundraising group a decade ago and has been instrumental in raising substantial funds and awareness throughout the region.
